⭐ Insomniacs Rating: 8/10 THE SUMMARY If you think your mid-life crisis is bad, at least you aren’t Jon Hamm in a tuxedo, crawling through a neighbour’s ventilation shaft. Your Friends & Neighbors (2025–Present) follows Coop, a high-flying hedge fund manager who gets bin-bagged from his job and decides the only logical way to keep his Maserati and his kids' private school tuition is to start burgling the local 1%. It witty-ly mixes the glossy, "money-soaked" vibe of Westmont Village with a high-octane crime caper. Coop isn't just stealing Patek Philippe watches; he’s uncovering the filthy secrets, affairs, and flat-out lies hidden behind the manicured lawns of his suburban "friends." THE PROS This is a 8/10 because it is the absolute business for anyone who misses the sharp, nuanced groove of Jon Hamm on their screen. He is 100% authentic as a man who is equally brilliant and desperate, making his fall from grace feel sincere rather than just a plot point. The supporting cast is top-tier—Amanda Peet as the ex-wife and Olivia Munn as the complicated "booty call" bring a genuine weight to the drama. The show witty-ly subverts the "rich people behaving badly" trope by adding high-octane heist elements, turning a suburban drama into a moreish crime caper. It’s a total win for its pacing; each episode feels punchy and leaves you dying to know whose house is getting hit next. THE CONS It settles at an 8/10 because it occasionally hits a Languid Burn when it leans too heavily into the "woe-is-me" billionaire problems. While Hamm is great, the show can feel a bit wet when it asks you to sympathise with a man whose biggest tragedy is having to live in a rental home instead of a mansion.
