This isn't a high-stakes superhero banger; it’s an honest attempt at a folk-horror mystery, drawing absolute quality inspiration from the original comics to create a gritty, low-budget atmosphere in the dark woods. THE PROS This earns its 5/10 because it is an absolute winner for comic book purists who wanted a more sincere and grounded take on the character. Jack Kesy is a total win as Hellboy, bringing a high-quality and understated grit that feels more honest to the source material than previous versions.
