As night falls, the production turns into a desperate fight for survival when the crew discovers that their hosts’ interest in them is far more sinister than just simple curiosity. It’s a stylish, blood-soaked tribute to the slasher classics of the 70s, but with a clever, modern edge. THE PROS Ti West delivers a masterclass in slow-burn tension that pays off with a chaotic, violent second half. It hits an 8 because Mia Goth is incredible in a dual role that you might not even spot on the first watch; she brings a gritty, pained depth to the story that elevates it above a standard "cabin in the woods" flick. The cinematography captures that grainy, sun-drenched 70s aesthetic perfectly, making the farmhouse feel like a character of its own. It’s an honest, refreshing take on the genre that explores themes of aging and regret while still delivering the high-octane kills horror fans crave.
