⭐ Insomniacs Rating: 7/10 THE SUMMARY Eighteen months after the destruction of Metropolis, the world is divided over Superman. To some, he’s a savior; to Bruce Wayne, he’s a ticking time bomb. Bruce, an older and more brutal Batman, becomes obsessed with taking down the Man of Steel after witnessing the carnage firsthand. Meanwhile, a twitchy Lex Luthor is pulling strings in the background, orchestrating a clash between the two titans while cooking up a "Doomsday" backup plan in a Kryptonian scout ship. It all culminates in a rainy rooftop brawl that only stops when they realize their mums have the same name, just in time to face a giant grey cave-troll together. THE PROS Ben Affleck is a total win as Bruce Wayne—he nails the "weary, billionaire alcoholic" vibe and his fighting style is the most punchy and comic-accurate we’ve ever seen. The warehouse rescue sequence is an absolute masterstroke of action choreography. Gal Gadot’s entrance as Wonder Woman is epic status, especially when Hans Zimmer’s electric cello theme kicks in. It’s a decent watch because the "Ultimate Edition" actually fixes a lot of the plot holes, making the political conspiracy feel more quality and cohesive than the theatrical mess. THE CONS It earns a 7/10 because the theatrical cut was a bit of a damp squib, feeling overstuffed and choppy. Jesse Eisenberg’s Lex Luthor is a choice that will leave many scratching their heads—he’s more "unhinged tech-bro" than "calculating mastermind." The "Martha" moment, while theoretically about humanizing Superman, lands with a bit of a thud for most viewers. It misses a higher mark because the middle act can feel seriously sluggish with all the dream sequences and "Knightmare" visions that don't fully pay off within this specific movie.
