Overview

⭐ Insomniacs Rating: 7/10 THE SUMMARY When a loyal police dog and his human officer partner are injured on the job, a life-saving surgery creates a new kind of justice-fighter: Dog Man. Part canine, part cop, and all hero, he’s got a nose for trouble and a gritty determination to keep the city safe. His main rival is the brilliant but pained feline supervillain, Petey the Cat, who is constantly hatching schemes to take over the world. It’s a high-energy, vibrant adaptation of Dav Pilkey’s massive book series that leans into the absurd, joyful chaos of a hero who can’t resist chasing squirrels while cuffing criminals. THE PROS This is an absolute win for family movie night. It hits a 7 because the animation style perfectly captures the raw, hand-drawn grit of the original books while adding a cinematic polish that makes the action sequences pop. The voice cast is a sincere highlight, bringing an honest, witty energy to characters that kids have loved for years. It’s an epic, fast-paced ride that doesn't talk down to its audience, blending slapstick humor with a genuine heart.
