⭐ Insomniacs Rating: 8/10 THE SUMMARY This is the big bang of the DC Animated Movie Universe. Set in a world where "superheroes" are still a new and terrifying concept to the public, we see Batman, Green Lantern, Superman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, Cyborg, and Shazam forced to stop beating each other up long enough to save the planet. Darkseid has launched a full-scale invasion using Parademons to "terraform" Earth, and these powerful egos have to figure out how to work as a unit. It’s a loud, aggressive, and high-octane origin story that doesn't waste time on pleasantries. THE PROS The action is a absolute win; the choreography is fast-paced and brutal, showing off exactly why these characters are considered god-like. The chemistry between Batman and Green Lantern is a sincere highlight, providing some much-needed wit and banter amidst the world-ending stakes. Watching Cyborg’s origin play out in the middle of a war zone is a total belter, giving the film an emotional anchor that it desperately needs. It’s a celebratory explosion of "New 52" comic aesthetics that feels fresh, modern, and unapologetically bold. THE CONS It earns an 8/10 because the dialogue can occasionally be a bit of a head-scratcher, leaning into "bro-ey" territory that makes some characters—especially Superman and Wonder Woman—feel a bit arrogant and unlikable at first.
