⭐ Insomniacs Rating: 8/10 THE SUMMARY This isn't your grandad’s Superman. After the destruction of Krypton, a young Clark Kent wanders the Earth as a drifter, struggling with the burden of his god-like powers. When General Zod—a ruthless Kryptonian military leader—arrives to terraform Earth into a New Krypton, Clark must choose between hiding his identity or becoming the symbol of hope humanity needs. It culminates in a massive, city-leveling brawl in Metropolis that forces the Man of Steel to make a haunting choice about his heritage. THE PROS Henry Cavill is epic status; he looks like he was carved out of granite and plays the role with a brooding, alien isolation that feels fresh. Zack Snyder’s visual style is punchy, especially during the "First Flight" sequence which is pure quality. The Hans Zimmer score is a total winner—no trumpets here, just a driving, percussion-heavy theme that makes you feel the weight of every punch. It’s a good movie because it treats Superman like a first-contact alien event rather than a comic book, making the stakes feel genuinely massive. THE CONS It earns an 8/10 because the final act in Metropolis is so chaotic it can feel a bit sluggish for the senses; there is only so much concrete you can see collapse before it blurs together. The "dark and gritty" tone is a choice that makes the middle act feel a bit of a damp squib for fans who want the bright, smiling hero of the past. It misses a higher mark because the pacing stutters during the heavy exposition scenes on Krypton and the frequent flashbacks. THE VERDICT An 8/10.
