Their only protection is a set of ropes tied to the house; if they let go, the forest will take them. As food runs low and one son begins to doubt his mother’s terrifying stories, the family’s bond is pushed to a breaking point. It’s a claustrophobic psychological horror that keeps you guessing whether the monsters are real or just the product of a mind broken by isolation. THE PROS Halle Berry is the standout here, giving a raw and gritty performance as a woman teetering on the edge of madness. She isn't playing a typical hero; she’s harsh, desperate, and genuinely unsettling. The two young actors playing her sons are also top-notch, making the tension in the house feel heavy and real. It hits a 6 because the atmosphere is excellent—the woods feel alive and threatening, and the "rope" gimmick creates some genuinely tense moments.
