⭐ Insomniacs Rating: 10/10 THE SUMMARY Peter Parker’s life is a shambles after Mysterio outs him to the world. Desperate to fix things for MJ and Ned, he asks Doctor Strange to cast a spell making everyone forget he’s Spider-Man. Peter’s constant tinkering breaks the spell, accidentally ripping open the multiverse and dragging in every villain who ever knew a Peter Parker—including Doc Ock, Green Goblin, and Electro. To save them from their fates, Peter has to team up with some very familiar faces from other realities for a final stand at the Statue of Liberty that changes his life forever. THE PROS This is epic status in every sense. Seeing the three generations of Spider-Men—Holland, Maguire, and Garfield—sharing the screen is a total win that managed to live up to the impossible hype. Willem Dafoe is quality as the Green Goblin, proving he’s still the punchiest villain in the franchise. It’s a 10/10 because it’s a sincere love letter to twenty years of cinema history while finally giving Holland’s Peter a proper "origin" of sacrifice and loss. Andrew Garfield’s redemption save is a winner that had theaters cheering, and the finality of the ending is pure quality drama. THE CONS It only avoids being perfect if you look too closely at the "magic" logic, which can feel a bit sluggish and convenient at times. Some of the early pacing before the multiverse kicks in is a bit of a damp squib, and the humor in the Sanctum Sanctorum occasionally feels a bit quality-deficient compared to the high emotional stakes of the second half. But honestly, when the three Spideys are on screen, these gripes are basically invisible. THE VERDICT A 10/10. Epic status and arguably the greatest fan-service movie ever made. It’s a winner for the nostalgia, the chemistry, and the gut-wrenching finale. Go and watch it to see how a "Homecoming" trilogy should actually end—it’s pure quality. INSOMNIAC TRIVIA • Top Secret: To keep the return of Maguire and Garfield a secret, they were often snuck onto set under heavy cloaks and referred to in the script only as "The Guests." Andrew Garfield famously lied to the press (and even Emma Stone) for over a year, which is a win for his acting skills.• Meme Logic: The three Peters pointing at each other in the lab was a quality nod to the famous 1960s cartoon meme. It wasn't originally in the script; the actors suggested it during rehearsals because they knew the fans would lose their minds.• Digital Dining: During the scene in the MIT administrator's car and on the news monitors at the Daily Bugle, the scrolling "breaking news" data contains a hidden sushi recipe—the favorite recurring easter egg of the VFX crew that has survived every Spider-Man iteration since 2002. THE VIBE Like a reunion party that turns into a tear-jerker. It smells like New York rain, pumpkin bombs, and fresh starts.
