⭐ Insomniacs Rating: 8/10 THE SUMMARY Millie (Sydney Sweeney) is down on her luck and desperate for a job to keep her parole officer happy. She thinks she’s struck gold when she’s hired as a live-in housemaid for the Winchesters, a wealthy couple living in a pristine mansion on Long Island. But the dream gig quickly turns into a psychological nightmare. Nina (Amanda Seyfried) is erratic and unstable, while her husband Andrew (Brandon Sklenar) seems like the only sane one in the house. As Millie gets drawn into their toxic marriage, she realizes the attic room she’s staying in locks from the outside—and she isn't the only one with secrets. THE PROS Sydney Sweeney is a standout as Millie, playing the role with a hidden edge that makes her feel far more capable than your average thriller lead. Amanda Seyfried is equally brilliant, leaning into the unhinged energy of Nina with a performance that keeps you guessing until the final part. It’s an 8/10 because the chemistry between the leads is electric, and the first part of the movie does a great job of building a sense of dread within that clinical, white-walled house. The "big reveal" is genuinely wild and delivers the kind of soapy, high-stakes drama that makes for a gripping watch. Paul Feig handles the tension with a slick, modern style that feels like a quality throwback to 90s erotic thrillers.
