⭐ Insomniacs Rating: 5/10 THE SUMMARY Matt Damon and Casey Affleck team up for this Boston-set heist comedy that feels like a family reunion for the Ocean’s Eleven crowd. Rory (Damon) is a desperate dad who needs a specific amount of cash for child support, so he joins Cobby (Affleck), a cynical ex-con, to rob a corrupt mayor’s victory party. When the job inevitably goes south, the pair ends up on the run across the city, eventually dragging Rory’s therapist (Hong Chau) along as a "hostage" who ends up being the only adult in the room. It’s a breezy, bickering crime caper that relies entirely on the real-life chemistry of its leads to keep the wheels from falling off. THE PROS The chemistry between Damon and Affleck is the biggest winner here; their constant back-and-forth feels honest and effortless, like they’ve been arguing in a Dunkin’ Donuts for thirty years.
