Overview

One year after her sister Melanie mysteriously disappeared, Clover and her friends head into the remote valley where she vanished in search of answers. It’s a stylish, high-stakes adaptation of the hit game that explores the "Butterfly Effect" in a world where the wrong word can get your head ripped off. THE PROS This is a win for video game adaptations. It hits a 7 because it perfectly captures the claustrophobic, blue-hued dread of the original source material. The makeup effects for the creatures are an absolute banger—gritty, skeletal, and genuinely stomach-churning. Peter Stormare returning as the unsettling Dr. Hill is a sincere highlight, bringing a pained, surreal energy to the therapy sessions that punctuate the carnage. It’s an honest horror flick that leans into its slasher roots while delivering some epic, high-octane sequences that make the most of the cinematic format.
