⭐ Insomniacs Rating: 9/10 THE SUMMARY The future is a total bin fire. Giant robot Sentinels have hunted mutants to the brink of extinction, and humanity isn't doing much better. To save the species, Kitty Pryde sends Wolverine’s consciousness back to 1973. His mission: stop Mystique from assassinating a scientist, an act that triggered the Sentinel program. Logan has to convince a depressed, powerless Charles Xavier and a grumpy, imprisoned Magneto to work together. It’s a race against time across two eras to rewrite history before the robots finish the job in the future. THE PROS This is epic status. It’s the ultimate "greatest hits" of the franchise, successfully blending the original cast with the First Class crew. Evan Peters as Quicksilver is a total win; the kitchen slow-motion scene is an absolute masterstroke of editing and humor. The stakes feel quality and genuine, especially seeing the veteran X-Men fighting a losing battle in the future. It’s a 9/10 because it manages to fix the messy continuity of the previous films while delivering a punchy, emotional story. Hugh Jackman is a winner as always, acting as the weary bridge between the two timelines. THE CONS It misses a 10/10 mark because the time-travel logic can be a bit of a damp squib if you think about it for more than five seconds. The "Kitty Pryde has time powers now" twist is a bit of a head-scratcher that isn't really explained. Also, some of the new future mutants like Bishop and Blink are quality additions but don't get nearly enough screen time before they're wiped out. THE VERDICT A 9/10. Epic status and highly recommended. It’s the best the mainline X-Men films ever got. It’s a winner for the emotional reunion at the end. Go and watch it for the Sentinels—they’re actually terrifying for once. Pure quality. INSOMNIAC TRIVIA • Suit Up: The futuristic Sentinels were designed to look "bio-mechanical" and adaptable, inspired by the idea that they had incorporated Mystique's DNA into their own technology.• Heavy Lifting: To film the scene where Magneto lifts an entire stadium, the production built a massive 100-foot-tall rig to hold physical pieces of the set, ensuring the light and shadows looked realistic on the actors below.• Digital Grub: During the Pentagon break-in, the security monitors in the background feature scrolling code that—once again—contains a hidden sushi recipe. It’s the legendary VFX signature that’s been in the mix since 1999. THE VIBE Like a ticking clock in a dark room. It smells like old records, rain-slicked concrete, and burnt electronics.
