    ⭐ Insomniacs Rating: 6/10 THE SUMMARY Sometimes the world doesn't want to be saved—it just wants to stay dead. *Heroes Reborn* (2015) was a 13-episode limited series event that tried to catch lightning in a bottle for a second time. Set five years after Claire Bennet jumped off a Ferris wheel and outed "Evos" (Evolved Humans) to the world, the show finds the super-powered community being hunted by the government and a vigilante couple (Zachary Levi and Judith Shekoni). It was marketed as a grand homecoming for the franchise, but it mostly served as a reminder that the original 2006 magic was harder to replicate than Peter Petrelli’s powers. THE PROS The return of Jack Coleman as Noah Bennet (HRG) is a total win; he’s the horn-rimmed heart of the show and provides a sincere bridge back to the original series. Zachary Levi playing a grieving, murderous villain was a masterstroke that showed off his range long before he became Shazam. The show’s biggest win is its exploration of a world that actually fears and hates "heroes," which was a much darker and more grounded take than the original show’s optimistic "Save the Cheerleader" vibe. It also introduced some cool new abilities, like Miko’s "Evernow" video game powers, which provided a visually unique flair in the 900+ archive. THE CONS It is a 6/10 because the plot is a total head-scratcher. It tries to juggle way too many new characters—half of whom are boring—while benching the legendary OGs like Peter and Sylar. It misses the 7/10 mark because the CGI often feels like total garbage, especially in the "Evernow" sequences which aged like milk in the sun. The pacing is a Languid Burn that leads to a finale that felt rushed and deeply unsatisfying for long-term fans. For some, the absence of Hayden Panettiere’s Claire (who was killed off-screen) was a dealbreaker that made the whole revival feel a bit hollow. THE VERDICT A 6/10. It is a genuine, but ultimately flawed, attempt to revive a titan. I was slightly gutted when it ended, not because it was great, but because it felt like such a missed opportunity to fix the franchise’s legacy. It is total garbage if you’re looking for the high-stakes brilliance of Season 1, but if you just want to see HRG one last time, it’s a decent vault filler.
