Following the death of his wife, Monica, Kayce is recruited by his former Navy SEAL team leader, Pete "Cal" Calvin (Logan Marshall-Green), to join an elite U.S. Marshals unit in Montana. Balancing the grief of being a single father to Tate with the brutal reality of hunting fugitives, Kayce has to use both his cowboy roots and his military training to clean up the wilderness. It’s a prestige procedural that bridges the gap between the sprawling family drama of *Yellowstone* and a gritty, week-to-week crime thriller. THE PROS This is a great series because it finally gives Kayce the solo spotlight he’s deserved for years. It hits an 8 because Luke Grimes delivers an amazing, pained performance that feels totally honest to the character’s heavy history. The chemistry between Kayce and his new team—especially the dynamic with Logan Marshall-Green—is a total highlight and keeps the show from feeling like just another "cop of the week" story. The Montana scenery is stunning, and the show handles the connection to the Broken Rock Reservation with a sincere touch, keeping Thomas Rainwater and Mo in the mix. It’s a smart, high-octane expansion of the Taylor Sheridan universe that feels both fresh and familiar.
