Monster High (2022–Present) is a vibrant, high-octane reboot of the iconic franchise, following Clawdeen Wolf as she arrives at a school designed for monsters. She soon teams up with Draculaura and Frankie Stein to navigate the social hierarchy of the supernatural world. It witty-ly moves away from the old web-series format into a sincere, fully realized animated world where "being yourself" isn't just a slogan—it's a survival tactic. It’s a total win for anyone who likes their teen drama with a side of fangs and fur. THE PROS The updated animation style is spot on; it’s colourful, fluid, and feels 100% authentic to the modern era while keeping the spooky-chic aesthetic that fans love. The voice cast is top-tier, bringing a sincere energy to the characters that makes the 900+ archive of previous iterations feel a bit flat. It’s a genuine masterclass in how to refresh a brand—the musical numbers are punchy, and the world-building is expanded with high-octane secrets and lore that keep the plot moving. It’s a total win for how it balances the "monster-of-the-week" antics with an overarching mystery about the school’s origins. THE CONS It settles at an 8/10 because some of the "lesson of the week" moments can feel a touch wet for those used to the slightly more cynical edge of the original dolls' diaries. For the hardcore "ghoul" fans, some of the character redesigns might be a bit of a head-scratcher at first, as they deviate quite a bit from the 2010 originals. It misses the 9/10 "Highly Recommended" mark because it occasionally hits a Languid Burn during the mid-season filler episodes, making it a solid, good series rather than a must-watch epic. This is 100% authentic to the new lore, creating a sincere internal conflict as she has to hide her human side from the monster-only school, adding a high-octane layer to her character. • Vocal Reunion: Several voice actors from the original 2010 web series witty-ly make "Easter egg" cameos throughout the 2022 run. It’s a sincere nod to the fans who have been in the vault since day one, making the transition between generations feel spot on. • Musical Muscle: The show’s music is handled by top-tier composers who have worked on high-octane Disney and Nick hits.
