Overview

At a boutique health-and-wellness resort that promises healing and transformation, nine stressed city dwellers try to get on a path to a better way of living. Watching over them during this 10-day retreat is the resort's director, Masha, a woman on a mission to reinvigorate their tired minds and bodies. However, these nine "perfect" strangers have no idea what is about to hit them.

⭐ Insomniacs Rating: 7/10 THE SUMMARYA glossy, slightly unhinged wellness retreat where “finding yourself” might involve a breakdown or two. Nine Perfect Strangers follows a group of burnt-out, broken, or just plain curious guests who arrive at Tranquillum House, run by the mysterious Masha. What starts as a luxury escape quickly turns into something far more intense, as the line between healing and manipulation gets very blurry. THE PROSNicole Kidman fully commits—accent, stare, and all. She makes Masha feel equal parts calming and deeply unsettling. The ensemble cast is strong across the board, with each character bringing their own baggage into the mix. Visually, it’s slick and atmospheric, with that serene, slightly eerie retreat vibe that keeps you watching even when things get weird. THE CONSIt never quite reaches the level of drama it feels like it’s building toward. The pacing drifts, especially in the middle, and some storylines feel undercooked by the time everything wraps up. It leans heavily on mystery, but the payoff doesn’t hit as hard as you’d hope. THE VERDICTA 7/10. It’s a good watch with strong performances and an intriguing setup, even if it doesn’t fully stick the landing. Worth it for the atmosphere and cast alone, just don’t expect a mind-blowing finish.
