⭐ Insomniacs Rating: 7/10 THE SUMMARY Adam and Grace are childhood sweethearts who return from their honeymoon full of hope, only to be brutally murdered in their home. The killer, a man named Lee Walsh, flees the scene and crashes his car in the middle of a storm—right outside the remote Scottish Highland farms where the victims' families live. When the families find the injured man and realize who he is, they’re faced with a terrifying choice: call the police or take justice into their own hands. It’s a claustrophobic "whodunnit" wrapped in a "why-dunnit," where the line between grieving family and cold-blooded killer starts to disappear in the Highland fog. THE PROS This is a 7/10 because the setup is absolute genius. Written by the Williams brothers (the duo behind *The Missing* and *The Tourist*), it takes a standard crime setup and flips it on its head by trapping the killer with the victims' families. The cast is top-tier British talent, including Juliet Stevenson, John Lynch, and *Game of Thrones*’ Joe Dempsie, who all do a massive amount of heavy lifting to make the grief feel real. It hits the mark because of the atmosphere; the Scottish setting is hauntingly beautiful and adds a "Scandi-noir" chill to the whole production. It’s a winner for its shock factor—the twist at the end of the first episode is a proper "jaw-on-the-floor" moment that changes the entire direction of the show. THE CONS It misses an 8 or 9 because the middle section gets a bit tangled in subplots that don't always pay off. There’s a storyline involving a corrupt detective that feels like it belongs in a completely different show and distracts from the intense family drama at the farm. It settles at a 7 because, while the big finale revelation is shocking, the motive behind the original murders feels a bit clichéd compared to the brilliant setup. At only four episodes, it’s a quick watch, but it occasionally feels like it’s both rushing toward the finish line and stalling for time with "filler" scenes in the second and third acts. THE VERDICT A solid 7/10. It is a dark, gripping, and well-acted thriller that starts with a bang but loses a bit of steam by the end. It isn't an 8 because of the disjointed subplots and a slightly "standard" motive, but for a rainy weekend binge, it’s a total winner.
