⭐ Insomniacs Rating: 6/10 THE SUMMARY Ridley Scott attempts to bridge the gap between the philosophical wandering of *Prometheus* and the classic slasher roots of the 1979 original. The colony ship *Covenant*, carrying thousands of pioneers in cryosleep, is diverted to a seemingly perfect planet after a freak stellar accident. What they find is a silent world inhabited only by David, the synthetic survivor of the Prometheus mission, who has spent a decade playing god with biological weapons. It’s a dark, gory, and nihilistic entry that swaps the "Engineers" for a full-blown descent into David’s madness, featuring double the Fassbender and a lot of familiar face-hugging. THE PROS Michael Fassbender remains a total winner, playing both the sinister David and the loyal, updated android Walter. The high-quality scenes of him playing the flute to himself and debating creation are a legendary highlight that carries the movie's more cerebral side. It earns a 6/10 because the initial planet landing and the first "Neomorph" birth are total bangers in terms of tension and body horror—the bloodbath in the med-bay is a sincere, visceral shout-out to the franchise's horror roots.
