    ⭐ Insomniacs Rating: 7/10 THE SUMMARY Maya is a high-achieving medical student whose life is derailed by a sudden, inexplicable tremor in her hands. Desperate to save her surgical career, she turns to an experimental "nerve-calming" app developed by a shadowy tech startup. The app uses high-frequency haptic feedback and AI-generated binaural beats to suppress her shakes, but the side effects are a nightmare. Maya begins to see "glitches" in her reality—shadowy figures that only appear when the app is active. As she becomes addicted to the digital calm, she realizes the software isn't just fixing her nerves; it’s rewriting her brain to let something else in. THE PROS Sophie Wilde is quality here, bringing a raw and sincere vulnerability to Maya that makes her descent into tech-addiction genuinely uncomfortable to watch. The sound design is epic status; if you watch this with headphones, the binaural beats used in the film create a punchy, physical sense of unease that mimics Maya’s experience. It’s a 7/10 because it’s a smart, modern body-horror that feels incredibly relevant in our "there’s an app for everything" culture. The visual representation of the "glitches"—subtle frame-rate drops and distorted reflections—is a winner for its creativity and restraint. THE CONS It earns a 7/10 because the plot follows a fairly standard "addiction" arc that you can see coming from a mile away. The pacing in the second act can feel slightly sluggish as Maya repeatedly denies there’s a problem, which is a bit of a damp squib for the tension. It misses an 8/10 mark because the final reveal of the tech company’s true motives feels quality-deficient and a bit generic compared to the high-concept setup. Some of the supporting characters, like Maya’s skeptical boyfriend, are given very little to do other than look worried in the background. THE VERDICT A 7/10. Decent and highly recommended for fans of 'Black Mirror' style tech-horror. It’s a winner for its unsettling atmosphere and Wilde’s standout performance. Go and watch it with the sound turned up—it’s quality psychological dread. These frequencies are known to induce feelings of anxiety and even hallucinations in humans, making the viewing experience punchy and visceral. • Hidden UI: The interface for the "Jitters" app shown in the movie was designed by a real Silicon Valley UI team. They were told to make it look as "addictive and calming" as possible, using specific shades of blue and pulsing animations used in real-world meditation apps. • Method Shakes: To make her physical tremors look sincere, Sophie Wilde wore a concealed vibration device on her wrist during filming, which allowed her to react naturally to a physical stimulus rather than just faking the hand shakes.
