⭐ Insomniacs Rating: 5/10 THE SUMMARY Evan Webber (Keanu Reeves) is a devoted father and husband left alone in his sleek, architectural home for a weekend while his family is away. His quiet night is interrupted by a knock at the door from two young women, Genesis and Bel, who claim to be lost and drenched from a storm. What starts as a gesture of kindness quickly spirals into a seductive trap and a brutal, psychological game of cat and mouse. Evan finds his life systematically dismantled as the girls turn his home into a gritty house of horrors to punish him for his transgressions. THE PROS Keanu Reeves gives it his all, delivering a performance that is unintentionally hilarious at times but undeniably committed. The "chocolate pizza" monologue is a total standout for all the wrong (and right) reasons. The film looks great, utilizing the sharp lines of the modern house to create a sense of claustrophobia despite the open space. It’s a bold attempt at a "home invasion with a twist," and the first act builds a decent amount of tension as the girls slowly push Evan’s boundaries. If you’re in the mood for something uncomfortable and slightly unhinged, it delivers on the grit. THE CONS It sits at a 5 because the logic is a massive head-scratcher. The girls' motivations are thin, and their ability to completely overpower a grown man with seemingly magical speed feels more like a plot convenience than a real threat. It misses a higher mark because the tonal shifts are jarring—it bounces between a serious thriller and a mean-spirited dark comedy without ever finding its footing. The ending is particularly divisive, offering a cynical punchline that feels more like a slap in the face than a clever payoff.
