⭐ Insomniacs Rating: 8/10 THE SUMMARY Two years after the Woodsboro massacre, Sidney Prescott is trying to move on at Windsor College. But when two students are butchered at a sneak preview of "Stab"—a movie based on the original murders—it’s clear a new Ghostface is following the "sequel rules." Gale Weathers and Dewey Riley return to help Sidney unmask the killer, who is intent on making this sequel bloodier and more ambitious than the original. It’s a sharp, self-aware thriller that proves the only thing more dangerous than a horror movie fan is a horror movie fan with a grudge. THE PROS This sequel is an absolute win for leaning even harder into its meta-commentary, specifically the debate over whether sequels can ever top the original. The suspense sequences—particularly the car escape and the sound booth chase—are total belters that showcase Wes Craven's masterful grip on tension. Jerry O'Connell and Timothy Olyphant bring a sincere, fresh energy to the cast, while the returning trio feels more grounded and battle-worn. It’s a good movie because it maintains the sharp wit of the first film while upping the body count and the complexity of the mystery.
