⭐ Insomniacs Rating: 7/10 THE SUMMARY Ten years after the trade blockade of Naboo, the galaxy is on the brink of civil war. Obi-Wan Kenobi (Ewan McGregor) tracks an assassin to the watery world of Kamino, where he discovers a massive, secret army of clones being bred for the Republic. Meanwhile, Anakin Skywalker (Hayden Christensen) is tasked with protecting Senator Padmé Amidala, leading to a forbidden romance across the meadows of Naboo and the sands of Tatooine. It all boils over in a massive gladiatorial showdown on Geonosis, marking the official start of the legendary Clone Wars and the beginning of Anakin’s slow tilt toward the dark side. THE PROS The third act is a absolute win for spectacle; seeing hundreds of Jedi ignite their sabers at once in the Geonosis arena is a celebratory explosion of fan-service that still delivers. Ewan McGregor is a total belter as a maturing Obi-Wan, perfectly channeling Alec Guinness while investigating the mystery of the clones. The introduction of Jango Fett and the seismic charges in the asteroid belt provide some of the best sound design in the entire saga. It’s a sincere, vital piece of lore that expands the scale of the Star Wars universe, giving us our first real look at the Jedi Order in their prime before the fall. THE CONS It earns a 7/10 because the romantic dialogue between Anakin and Padmé is a sincere head-scratcher; the "I don't like sand" monologue has become a meme for a reason. The heavy reliance on early 2000s CGI makes some of the environments feel a tad sterile and "video-gamey" compared to the tactile grit of the original films. It misses the 8/10 mark because the pacing in the middle act drags significantly during the Naboo retreat, making it feel a bit like a soap opera that occasionally remembers it’s a space epic. It’s decent, but it’s the business of "world-building" more than tight storytelling. THE VERDICT A 7/10. Decent and a sincere recommendation for those who want to see the origin of the clones and the first time Yoda pulls out a lightsaber. It is a vault essential for the lore alone, bridging the gap between the child hero and the future villain. Go and watch it for the Kamino rain fight and the epic arena battle—it’s the business for a nostalgic prequel night. INSOMNIAC TRIVIA • Yoda Unleashed: This was the first time fans saw Yoda engage in a lightsaber duel. To get the movements right, the animators studied high-speed footage of Olympic fencers and small, agile animals to give the 900-year-old Master his "bouncing" fighting style.• Family Ties: The actor who played Jango Fett, Temuera Morrison, would go on to play Boba Fett in the modern series, but in this film, he also provided the physical performance and voices for the entire clone army.• Digital Pioneer: This was the first major motion picture to be shot entirely on high-definition digital 24p cameras, a sincere move away from traditional film that changed the way Hollywood movies were made forever. THE VIBE Like a bright, chrome-plated futuristic city that’s starting to show a few cracks in the paint. It smells like ozone, fresh rain, and slightly burnt meadow grass. It makes you want to investigate a conspiracy, rethink your stance on sand, and realize that even the best intentions can lead to a galaxy-spanning war.

THE SUMMARY
