His life is flipped upside down when he’s contacted by Morpheus, a legendary rebel who reveals a mind-bending truth: the world Neo lives in is a sophisticated simulation called the Matrix, built by machines to keep humanity docile while they harvest their bio-electricity. Neo is unplugged and brought into the real world—a bleak, scorched wasteland—where he must learn to manipulate the simulation's code to become "The One" and lead a revolution against the sentient programs known as Agents. THE PROS This is epic status. It didn't just change action movies; it redefined how we think about reality. The Wachowskis’ use of "Bullet Time" remains a masterstroke that looks quality even decades later. Keanu Reeves is a total win as Neo, bringing the perfect mix of "confused everyman" and "god-like warrior."
