⭐️Insomniacs Rating: 8/10 THE SUMMARY Rue (Zendaya) is a teenage drug addict fresh out of rehab with exactly zero intention of staying clean. Her life gets a chaotic upgrade when she meets Jules, the new girl in town. Surrounding them is a group of high schoolers dealing with everything from toxic masculinity and secret cam-girl careers to the kind of drama that makes a soap opera look like a documentary. THE PROS Zendaya is a powerhouse—she captures the twitchy, heartbreaking reality of addiction so well you forget she’s a Disney alum. The cinematography is also on another level; every frame looks like a high-fashion fever dream. It’s one of the few shows that actually feels like art, even when it's showing you things you’d rather not see. THE CONS The "realism" is a bit of a stretch. If any actual high school looked like this, the parents would be in jail and the students would all be in therapy by Tuesday. Sometimes the show gets so lost in its own "edginess" and nudity that it forgets to actually progress the plot, leaving us with beautiful scenes that don't really go anywhere. THE VERDICT It’s an 8/10. It’s gorgeous, gut-wrenching, and deeply uncomfortable. It’s not exactly "fun" to watch, but it’s impossible to look away. If you can handle the intensity, it’s a modern classic of "teen" television. INSOMNIAC TRIVIA Many of the makeup looks on the show became global trends, with "Euphoria Makeup" becoming a literal category in the beauty world. Also, Angus Cloud (Fezco) was discovered on the street in Manhattan; he had never acted before and thought the casting scout was trying to scam him. His "real-world" energy is a huge part of why the character felt so authentic. THE VIBE A beautiful panic attack. It feels like being at a party where the music is too loud and everyone is crying, but everyone looks incredible. Best watched with the lights low and your phone far, far away.

THE SUMMARY
