The newest episodes will pick up from the Part 1 finale, which saw Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton) propose to blooming wallflower Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan). As Colin and Penelope reflect on their newfound relationship in Part 2, they seem to realize just how in love they are. But, as the footage hints, secrets still hang over the happy couple. Namely, that Mayfair knows Penelope by another, more secret, moniker: Lady Whistledown, the ton’s most infamous scandal sheet writer.
Keep reading below for all the juicy Season 3 details worthy of Lady Whistledown’s next dispatch, including the new photos of Part 2 that would surely grab the ton’s attention.
When does Bridgerton Part 1 and 2 come out?
Bridgerton Season 3 is split into two batches, each of four episodes. Part 1 is now streaming on Netflix Part 2 comes out on June 13.

What happens in the Bridgerton Season 3, Part 2 trailer?
News of Colin and Penelope’s engagement quickly spreads through Mayfair. Some — like romantic mama Violet — are delighted. Others — including both Colin and Penelope’s siblings — are shocked. Polin, however, just wants to delight in their love; you’ll have to watch the clip to see many sweet (and sultry) moments between the pair. One shot might particularly thrill avid readers of the Bridgerton book series by Julia Quinn.
“Colin doesn’t mind making a fool of himself in front of the person that he loves,” Newton tells Tudum. “That’s where the friends-to-lovers trope really comes into play — there’s no pretense. They can’t pretend to be anyone else in front of each other because they’ve known each other for so long. So that’s actually something that’s really special that I think people will resonate with when they watch the show.”
However, there’s a secret threatening Polin’s joy: The clock is ticking on Penelope’s Whistledown-sized secret. Will she reveal the truth when she has so much to lose? Will Eloise, who’s shocked to learn her former best friend is engaged to her older brother, be able to keep Penelope’s most delicate confidence? You’ll have to tune into Bridgerton Season 3, Part 2, debuting June 13, to find out.
What and who is Bridgerton Season 3 about?
In the aftermath of Season 2’s Featherington Ball, Penelope is left heartbroken after overhearing Colin say to a group of bachelors that he would never court her. Penelope’s falling out with best friend Eloise (Claudia Jessie) in the Season 2 finale won’t help her mood either. But at Tudum: A Global Fan Event, Coughlan assured viewers Penelope is ready for a scandalous new London season in Season 3.
“Polin stans, I see you!” Coughlan said from the Tudum stage in June. “This season Penelope returns to London determined to become a new woman with a new independence … We cannot wait to take you along for the carriage ride.”
According to the official synopsis, Penelope enters Season 3 finally ready to give up her longtime crush on Colin. However, that doesn’t mean she’s done with love. Instead, Penelope has decided it’s time to take a husband — and preferably one who will give her the freedom to continue her double life as Lady Whistledown, far away from the prying eyes of her mother and sisters.
Yet, as the rest of the synopsis reads, “lacking in confidence, Penelope’s attempts on the marriage mart fail spectacularly. Meanwhile, Colin has returned from his summer travels with a new look and a serious sense of swagger. But he’s disheartened to realize that Penelope, the one person who always appreciated him as he was, is giving him the cold shoulder. Eager to win back her friendship, Colin offers to mentor Penelope in the ways of confidence to help her find a husband this season. But when his lessons start working a little too well.
Colin must grapple with whether his feelings for Penelope are truly just friendly. Complicating matters for Penelope is her rift with Eloise, who has found a new friend in a very unlikely place, while Penelope’s growing presence in the ton makes it all the more difficult to keep her Lady Whistledown alter ego a secret.”
Can I watch any more footage of Bridgerton Season 3?
Yes, and the newest video gives us a glimpse into the married life of Season 2 leads Kate and Anthony. As we see in the clip, the couple’s passion has only grown since tying the knot. The moment Anthony gets a free moment at a ball, he wants to spend it with his beautiful wife. Kanthony fans won’t want to miss the resulting — and romantic — spin around the ballroom that follows. Do they kiss? Well, even Lady Whistledown wouldn’t spoil that surprise.
And #Polin fans — you’re also in luck. Two clips from the new season have been revealed, and both give us a peek at Penelope and Colin’s crackling chemistry. The newest clip, from the series’ Feb. 14 event in London, unveils the fallout from Colin’s hurtful courting comments about Penelope in the Season 2 finale. The other clip takes us to the Bridgerton sitting room, where Penelope serves Colin a compliment so direct all he can do is reach for a glass of water to quench his sudden thirst. Want to know what Penelope has to say? Well, you’re going to have to press play on the video to find out.

When did Bridgerton Season 3 start filming?
The gilded doors of Bridgerton Season 3 opened in July 2022; the cast announced the production news with a video nodding toward a beloved Season 2 finale moment. Bailey, who led Season 2 as the dashing Viscount Anthony Bridgerton, kicks off the clip by doing the hand gesture for 2 and turning it to 3. Anthony does a similar motion in Season 2, Episode 8 toward love interest Kate Sharma (Simone Ashley) to “steady” her after a near-tragic fall.
The rest of Bailey’s co-stars follow suit, including Jessie, Andoh, Gemmell, and Thompson. Finally, Newton pops up to make the 3 sign, only to open a carriage for the final star of the video, Coughlan, who’s gotten a serious style upgrade as Penelope.
“Bridgerton Season 3 filming has officially begun,” she says before turning to Newton and asking, “You coming in?” Fans of Quinn’s Bridgerton books might be particularly excited to see this playful exchange — it’s a nod to Polin’s famously steamy carriage scene from the novel Romancing Mister Bridgerton. “I can’t confirm or deny what’s in [Season 3] and what isn’t … But from what I have heard, people are going to be extremely pleased,” Coughlan told Tudum in May.
